Unwrap and Flatten Faces for sketchup

Alex Schreyer, Senior Lecturer at the University of Massachusetts, has developed Unwrap and Flatten Faces for sketchup. This sketchup plugin is used to unwrap shapes and randomly place oriented faces flat on the ground. It is compatible with SketchUp 8, SketchUp 2013, SketchUp 2014, SketchUp 2015, SketchUp 2016, SketchUp 2017.

With this sketchup extension, the users will be able to perform the following things :-

This extension allows the user to do three things:

? Unwraps non-coplanar faces (any shape objects, shells etc.) - Apply an automatic (randomized) algorithm and then places the consequential set of faces flat on the ground. It is performed devoid of producing any distortions.

? Places any randomly-oriented face or collection of coplanar faces flat on the ground (without distortion) - Utilize it along with a manual unfold tool to ensure proper horizontal alignment of faces.

? Projects a set of faces to one of the three main planes - Smash all faces flat to generate distortions.

This extension can be applied for generating fabric or sheet-metal templates, laser-cutting templates, as CNC-prep, for texturing, etc.
