The functionality of the Datasmith Direct Link workflow can be used after installing the Datasmith Exporter plugin. In one Twinmotion project, multiple direct links can be created which helps to allow the users to import and mix the files from different applications.

How to set a Datasmith Direct Link

➢ For setting up a Datasmith Direct Link, users have to download the Datasmith Exporter plugin first for their design applications. These plugins can be accessed on the Twinmotion website, the Plugins tab on the home panel of Twinmotion, or the design application websites.
➢ The next step is installing the plugins for the design applications of the users.
➢ After installing the plugins, the design scenes are opened for setting a Datasmith Direct Link.
➢ The next step is opening the Import dock. This can be done by clicking the import option from the footer.
➢ The import icon from the import dock has been clicked.
➢ After that, the direct link tab has been selected. This shows the filename of the open sources, from which, users can select the scenes as per their needs.
➢ In the option feature, users can select the Direct Link importing options and then click import option which helps to import the content from the design application into the Twinmotion software.
➢ Users can click the Synchronize with Direct Link on the Datasmith Exporter toolbar which helps to start the synchronization process of direct link and the scenes can be opened in Twinmotion software.

How to set multiple Datasmith Direct Link

A separate instance of the design application must be open for each of the direct links which helps to set more than one Direct Link to the multiple design applications.

How can update a scene in Twinmotion?

For updating a scene in the Twinmotion software, a direct link needs to be set up between the Twinmotion and the design applications of the users. This setup enables the users to make changes in their scenes automatically or manually with the help of the Synchronize with Direct Link feature.

How can use the Direct Link Auto Sync Feature?

The Direct Link Auto Sync button should be clicked by the users in their design applications to enable the Direct Link Auto Sync feature. In the case of Archicad and SketchUp Pro, the button background switches to light blue while enabling the Direct Link Auto Sync Feature.
