The 5 Best SketchUp Plugins to Download for Free

A 3D model could create using SketchUp even if you were not an expert. According to artists, SketchUp is ideal for producing simple models but unable to produce complex ones. The workflow is different in SketchUp, and the advanced results might better achieve with other plugins. You should check out some of the plug-ins that you might find useful.

1. Front Face Tool

Revert the faces on a backward-facing object you select it, right-click, and then select Reverse Faces. When your object contains a large number of polygons, it could take forever to fix. 2. Round Corner Tool

Object edges that are this sharp in real life would pose an injury hazard, so making them smoother makes them appears more realistic and gives them a polished appearance. It is easy to see how the model is completely different in the video; when you add material, you will paint it into what looks like a realistic table.

3. Solid Inspector

You can save the whole model with just a single button plugin. It is great that you can inspect modeled or imported objects for problems that might corrupt, causes your SketchUp file to lag, or cause it to crash and ruin all your hard work. There are things it can fix and things you have to do yourself. You can see these problems by orbiting or flipping the object, generally highlighting in red.

You make sure not to overwhelm yourself by inspecting complex objects before creating them or importing downloads, and only during creation. If you plan to import anything heavy or complicated that may cause a crash, you should save your progress before importing it.

4. Shape Bender

Consider the situation where you have a curved and straight rectangular opening and you want them to fit together. You can literally bend anything to any shape using this tool.

You need this detailed workflow in below:

Workflow

1. By either drawing or copying the bend, you can mimic the curve of the desired bend.
2. You need to draw a straight line along the length of the object you want to bend. In SketchUp, the Red Axis, or the X-Axis, does not have to be the same length. However, the lines must be parallel to the Red Axis. A component or group cannot bend an object unless it is a group.
3. Choosing the object, then clicking the tool button, is the next step.
4. In your SketchUp window, on the left side, you'll see the tool's instructions. The straight line should be selected first.
5. Your next step is to choose the curve or bend.

If your model is complex, it could take several seconds or minutes, but you'll see a green outline of your object. Since it's an outline, it's difficult to tell if you've bent the shape in the right direction. Make sure your Start and End labels match those on the original object. Using the Up and Down arrows on your keyboard, you can turn your line around if the shape is curved backward. By pressing Enter on your keyboard, you will be able to draw a new object.
