An exclusive v-ray tutorial on displacement mapping
Architect Michael Gomez Zuniga presents an exclusive tutorial for v-ray sketchup users that focuses on V-ray displacement containing sensible texture wall.
Displacement mapping refers to a method for applying detail to any scene geometry devoid of modeling it initially. The concept is same as bump mapping. Though, bump mapping belongs to a shading effect that only modifies the look of a surface, whereas displacement mapping actually revises the surface.
Large displacement maps can consume a significant part of RAM. So, it will be better to use 3D mapping then, because it can reprocess the memory utilized for the displaced geometry.
