Shapeways is organizing a 3d printing and 3d modeling contest
Shapeways, in collaboration with the 3D Modeling and Animation Facebook group, has organized 3D Animation to 3D Print’ Contest that is open between September 10 and October 15. In order to participate in the contest, one has to join the 3D Modeling and Animation Facebook group and make their own 3D printable model.
Justin Hanes, the creator of this facebook group, together with Jonathon Riley and various artists at Shapeways, will perform as the Judge of the contest.
The performance of the participants will be assessed on the basis of creativity, technique and printability. The works submitted by the participants, which push the peripheries of 3d printing and at the same time make something that reveals the understanding of the possibilities of the medium thoroughly, will be mostly prioritized.
The participants who score high will get four prizes. The participant who gets first position will obtain $200 in Shapeways credit and a printed version of their model. The second position holder will receive $50 in Shapeways credit at their disposal to provide them prized for their endeavors. Two third place winners will receive $25 in credit to apply at Shapeways. Besides, every participants of the contest will automatically get $10 in Shapeways credit.
All the Entries must be printable for under $200 and Shapeways will provide the pricing and run an automatic check for printability, so that the participants can submit their entries earlier and get sufficient time for modifications if required to abide by the rules and regulations of the contest.
The winners of the contest will be declared prior to October 31.
