An exclusive 3D printed Jewelry Challenge organized by Sketchup Team and I.Materialise

Both Sketchup team and I.Materialise are conducting a “3D Printed Jewelry Challenge” for the 3D printed jewelry designers/artists to demonstrate their outstanding 3D printed jewelry designs.

Sketchup is ideal for generating geometric 3D objects like “architectural models, scale models, interior design items, functional parts” as well as geometrical jewelry like Rings, bracelets, cufflinks, pendants, earrings, necklaces.

In order to take part in this 3d design competition, just upload your design to the concerned website (https://i.materialise.com/challenge/sketchup) before April 10, 2016 at 11:59 CET. Several designs can be uploaded but these must be clearly rendered images. Also clearly mention the material of your design so that the judges can get some sound impression on your complete design ideas.

The participants have to abide by some other rules in this challenge - polyamide should contain a highest bounding box volume limit of 1953.3 cm³ — i.e. 125 x 125 x 125 mm; brass submissions are restricted to 9 cm³; and silver models should remain under a volume limit of 2.5 cm³. All the submitted models should be 3d printable. Therefore, go through the design guides for polyamide (https://i.materialise.com/materials/polyamide/design-guide), brass (https://i.materialise.com/materials/brass/design-guide), and silver (https://i.materialise.com/materials/silver) prior to submit your jewelry designs.

There will be some exciting prizes. The winner will get a 3D print of their winning design in polyamide, brass, or silver provided that the design adheres to the rules for size specifications. The winner will also get a $110 voucher for i.materialise 3D printing services and a license for SketchUp Pro worth $695. Second and third place winners will mutually receive $82 and $55 vouchers. All participants will obtain a 10% discount for 3D printing their designs with i.materialise.
