Streetscape - a chance for budding designers
“Streetscape”, the second MeetUp session, will celebrate the powerful role SketchUp plays in shaping our environment. Join us for sunset views of Mount Hood, Northern Oregon, from the offices of GLUMAC, on September 24, from 6 – 8.30 PM. Doors will open at 6 PM for refreshments and networking, and will close when presentations begin at 6:30 PM. Three talented professionals will share their work.
Multi-Modal Streets: Oliver Kuehne is a senior planner and urban designer at HDR. He studied architecture and urban planning in Stuttgart, Germany, and has over a decade of experience of using SketchUp as a design and visualization tool.
The 3D Visualization for Innovative Concepts in Transportation.
Nick Falbo is an local bike-lane proponent and urban planner at Alta Planning + Design. His video, “Protected Intersections”, has drawn the eyes of over a half a million people, and has been featured by WIRED.
Using GeoLocation Tools for Skatepark Design: Dug Ketterman is the lead conceptual and technical designer at California RampWorks, an action sports company. He has been been involved in managing Skateparks since he was 17, and most recently designed the skate ramps of Dew Tour.
The basic intension is to see the work of designers. The Show will bring the organizer how a designer integrates modeling into the flow. One week before the event, the organizers send an invitation to all registered guests to provide 1-3 work samples. These will display on screen before and after the presentations.
The participant’s should remember, that they do not need to be a professional, or even especially good at using SketchUp to join this MeetUp group. If a participant is on the fence after reading this far, consider this: the organizers are expecting to attract a wide range of skill levels and industry expertise. That diversity is what will make this group strong.
