Sketchup for Artists - An exclusive event by Forum
Forum, the network for 3d artists, is going to organize a one day course in Sketchup on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (PDT). Paul Hensey MSGD, a well known landscape, garden designer as well as renowned lecturer in sketchup, will perform as the course instructor.
This course will provide great benefits to all the 3d artists to improve their modeling practice and workflow with sketchup.
The following will be some of the course topics:-
- navigating the interface and control of on screen objects.
- setting up a preferred interface for modelling.
- creating simple rectilinear and organic shapes and objects.
- moving/ orientating objects and geometry.
- the use of layers, groups and components.
- getting objects from the internet.
- enhancing the software with "plugins".
- difference between Make and Pro versions.
- how to import and draw over a sketch/ drawing.
- how to export an image/ drawing.
- how to export images for production/ 3D printing.
- simple presentation images.
- where to get help!
By undergoing the course the students will be familiar with importing a drawing, producing simple shapes to the necessary size, rotating/moving shapes into position, generating simple drawings to illustrate an object: dimensions and elevations.
The students are allowed to convey examples of objects/shapes/geometry for modeling purpose and all these will be displayed if there is sufficient time.
The attendees of the course should maintain the following criteria:-
- One must carry their own laptop (not tablet or ipad) for working purpose.
- One should posses a 3 button mouse.
- One should download and familiarize themselves with the most updated version of sketchup (free to download).
- Fundamental skills in computer operating.
The course fee is £65.00 and lunch is included on the price.
