The Westport Library is conducting free sketchup workshops
The Westport Library is conducting a three-part free workshop that is designed for teens aged between 6-12 on the 3D modeling software SketchUp. This sketchup course will commence from 12th October 2015.
The renowned builder, Joseph Schott, will perform as the course instructor. In order to attend the course, the participants have to bring a laptop with SketchUp installed.
Topics of the course:
- Level 1, Monday, Oct. 12, 4-5:30 p.m – Familiar with basic features of SketchUp like navigating the toolbar and generating sketches for basic shapes. The participants will be trained to design their own unique medallion which can be easily 3d printed in future.
- Level 2, Monday, Oct. 19, 4-5:30 p.m. – Learn some advance sketchup skills like how to scale objects, generate spheres and how to download and revise subsisting projects on the web. One can apply these skills to make their own project with sketchup. Students must undergo the Level 1 class or must possess prior SketchUp experience.
- Level 3, Monday, Oct. 26, 4-5:30 p.m. – By acquiring knowledge in the Level 1 & 2 classes, the attendees will be able to insert textures and components to their project. Be trained on applying SketchUp for industrial design, jewelry design, architecture and more. Students must attend the Level 1 and 2 classes or contain thorough SketchUp experience.
